On Monday 8th June, officers from across Brent Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT), supported by North West Proactive and Territorial Support Group (TSG) officers, commenced a week-long proactive operation targeting crime in and around Harlesden and Willesden Green. This initiative was launched in response to an increase in recorded crime and concerns raised by local residents.
Throughout the operation, over 150 officers were deployed to enhance police visibility and provide reassurance to the community.
Over the course of the week 25 arrests were made. These arrests were for a variety of offences including 6 people arrested for possession of offensive weapons and knives. There were eight people were arrested for drug related offences including possession and possession with intent to supply. Also, there was one arrest for a male identified causing damage to a local CCTV camera. Other notable arrests were made including an individual that had committed a knife point robbery. There was also an arrest made following an assaulting against an emergency worker.
Over the week officers also conducted over 40 stop and seized 6 vehicles during the week of dedicated and targeted patrols.
This activity sends a clear message to those involved in criminality in our neighbourhoods. While this was one focused week of enforcement, our work will not stop here. We will continue to work closely with partner agencies to ensure our communities are safe places to live and work.
We are listening to your concerns and taking direct, robust action to address them. | ||
